Scrapfest 2011 is already upon us!!! AHH!!! I have been waiting for scrapfest since scrapfest last year! For those of you that don’t know, Scrapfest is an Archiver’s sponsored event (…event is putting it lightly) where women from around the United States gather together for scrapbooking workshops, crops, free make and takes, and more to meet designers, learn new techniques, discover new products, and meet thousands of other crafters! This convention takes over the Mall of America in Minnesota for a weekend in September. Every walkway in the mall is saturated with vendor booths where companies like Bo Bunny, Tattered Angels, Ranger, Little Yellow Bicycle, DCWV, and many others have stands with free make and takes and bigger areas are fenced off to hold different 1 hour workshops where you make mini-albums, recipe books, journals, etc using that company’s products and techniques. Its a blast!! Thousands of women (and a handful of men, like Tim Holtz and the creator of Bo Bunny’s handsome son who both taught workshops last year!) swarm to the MOA for 4 days of crafting, learning, and socializing.
Needless to say, our plans are about finalized. My mom and I got online the morning registration opened (which is necessary, as select workshops fill up within a matter of minutes) and created our schedule for the weekend, the flights and hotel are booked, and we fly out tonight!! I worked 40 hours in 4 days so that I could take Friday off for this!! 🙂 We are scheduled for 5 classes:
- Bon Appetit Recipe Pocket Book (Marvy Uchida)
- Inspiration Journal Portfolio (7 gypsies)
- Grungy Mini Album (Tombow)
- Best Gifts Mini Album (Bo-Bunny)
- You Go Girl! Mini Album (Tattered Angels)
Pictures will be up soon after Scrapfest of the completed projects! Wishing you creative energy for the weekend!
