DIY Wall Hanging

Browsing Pinterest again… (I’m so addicted!!!) I came across some wall hangings that I thought were the cutest idea; they were double sided so you could make one piece for multiple seasons. In my scrap repertoire, I just happened to have supplies to make my own, so here’s what I came up with!!

Using some chipboard I had lying around, I cutout 6 4″x4″ squares, painted the edges black with acrylic paint, and cut out patterned paper (a value pack that I’d gotten from Michaels) that was just slightly smaller. I used my Cricut with “Gypsy Font” to cut out letters at 3.5″ (for the FALL side) and 3″ (for the spring side) on cardstock, and then cut the same words out with shadow to get that layered effect.

For embellishmets I used:

Fall — Blue and turquoise prima flowers accented with the gold Adirondack paint dabber, a grungeboard flourish from Tim Holtz painted with white paint dabber and covered with gold pigment powder , sheer gold leaves (found next to prima flowers) and copper brads.

Summer — Tim Holtz grungeboard butterfly, purple recollections pearls, fiskars small butterfly punch and pink sparkle paper, recollections rhinestone flourishes.

Hope you’re inspired!!
